100. Röntgenkongress (congress of radiology) in Leipzig 29.-31.05.2019

For the fifth time, we have been present at the congress of radiology where we showed our entire training course programme. A lot of visitors appreciated the academy’s offer to extend their own spectrum through our practical and small hands-on-workshops and to get a disease-centred impression and thereby being able to orientate themselves more economically.

April 4-5, 2019

For the first time, a hands-on course is taking place, which focuses exclusively on the liquid emboliate "Squid Peri" and the liquid embolic agent "Magic Glue" and their use in the embolization of arteriovenous malformations (AVM). The participants of this workshop can rely on the expertise of Prof. W. Wohlgemuth, who is considered a luminary in this field, and guiding this workshop together with his co-speaker, Prof. R. Müller-Wille.

September 19-20, 2018

Researchers of the future - a German nominee programme Forscher für die Zukunft

"Radiology as a therapeutic, clinical research discipline"

From 18 to 20 January 2017, the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, in cooperation with LIAM, hosted the second workshop of three within the frames of the programme "Researchers of the Future 2016/2017" sponsored by the Röntgengesellschaft e.V. (or English, German Society of Radiology). In order to promote young researchers in particular, the chairholders for radiology nominate young physicians for an “excellence workshops” programme. The programme consists of three workshop sessions per season, which are each held at renowned research locations and led by outstanding researchers.

The topic of this second workshop of season 2016/2017 was "Radiology as a therapeutic, clinical research discipline". The workshop covered a broad spectrum of content, ranging from the organization of a study office and the funding of research to translational and clinical research. Four clinical study concepts were jointly developed and submitted for external funding application. Furthermore, the participants received an in-depth insight into clinical orientation of a radiology clinic with its own inpatient ward through presentations and interactive visit and tumour board simulations.
